Summary of video: This overview video walks you through setting up MachMotion’s CNC Control System with a
. Starting with a review of the included components, then a demonstration of the connections, and concluding with a the Mach3 software to confirm functionality.
0:05 Hello. I am Carl from MachMotion. I am going to show you how easy it is to set up a MachMotion Control to a servo drive and motor. Right here is what you will receive if you order a MachMotion Mitsubishi Kit. Right here, we have the mounting arm, here the CNC control, the Mitsubishi servo drive, a 30-inch pound servo motor, 24-volt power supply, and three cables. First, we're going to mount the CNC control to the arm. Then, remove the back cover as we have done here. Then you are ready to hook up the servo drive and motor.
0:51 First we are going to connect the motor power cable to the servo drive. Now we'll hook it up to the drive and hook up ground. Now we'll hook the encoder signal. Then we'll hook the encoder cable up to the drive. Now I'm going to hook up the MachMotion drive interface board. Now we're going to connect the servo drive to the control.
2:00 First, plug this into the MachMotion interface board and plug the other end of the Cat5 into the control. The MachMotion control comes standard with the ability to control six axis, plus spindle control and spindle feedback. Right here are the terminals to connect all your IO, including limit switches and other auxiliary functions.
2:35 Now we are going to connect the power to the servo drive, 220 single phase. Connect the ground wire. Now we're going to turn on the CNC controls. The key switch is right here at the back right-hand corner. We're going to open up the flip-out keyboard.
3:08 Your control will come preconfigured, as this one is. Begin by opening up the Mach3 software. Wait until it loads. Begin by releasing key-stop then press the reset button. Now let's test for motion. And yes, we have motion. You can also jog using the jog keys on the keyboard. Other functions of the switch panel include feed rate override, access select, cycle start, and cycle stop. So that is how simple it is to hook up a MachMotion control. Thank you for your time, I hope you have a great day.
