MACHMOTION AT TECHSOLVE WITH HYBRID MANUFACTURING

America Makes, Optomec, MachMotion, and TechSolve held a private unveiling — a legacy CNC machine tool upgraded with advanced 3D metal additive manufacturing technology.

This accomplishment will enable manufacturers to leverage their existing machine tool assets to cost-effectively utilize 3D Printing in their factories. This technology cost-effectively bridges the gap between additive and subtractive manufacturing processes by enabling any CNC machine tool to be upgraded with 3D Printing capability. At the unveiling we displayed a legacy Fadal Vertical Mill with integrated LENS® 3D Printing technology performing additive and subtractive processes on the same metal part.
