Position Overview
MachMotion is seeking a motivated, high-performing Sales Engineer who is technically skilled and eager to build a long-term career in manufacturing sales. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys serving customers, understands CNC and industrial manufacturing environments, and thrives at the intersection of technical expertise and relationship-driven sales.
Role Summary
The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by managing inbound and assigned customer accounts while building long-term partnerships. This position guides customers through technical solutions, develops strategic sales plans, and executes a consultative sales process to deliver profitable growth.
You will work cross-functionally with Sales Leadership, Engineering, Development, and Marketing to ensure customer needs are met while contributing to accurate forecasting, margin performance, and market expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Engineering & Customer Engagement
- Educate customers on MachMotion products and retrofit options to identify best-fit solutions
- Conduct sales calls with technical decision-makers at small, mid-sized, and enterprise manufacturing companies
- Perform onsite visits as needed to support sales and relationship development
- Deliver product demonstrations tailored to specific industries and machine types
- Develop complex, customized quotes based on machine type, application, and customer requirements
- Negotiate consultative sales solutions in collaboration with the Director of Sales & Marketing
Sales Operations & Strategy
- Manage orders through MachMotion’s internal sales and fulfillment processes
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and reporting using HubSpot CRM
- Contribute to revenue forecasts, sales targets, and gross margin goals
- Collaborate with the Development team to align product capabilities with customer demand
- Support marketing initiatives that align with and enhance sales strategies
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience (manufacturing or industrial sales preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of CNC machinery, controls, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Proven ability to develop and execute sales and go-to-market strategies
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical aptitude
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and work independently
- Comfortable working with complex technical concepts
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment
